“To educate a man in mind and not in morals is to educate a menace to society.” ~Theodore Roosevelt
Kimberley Andrews is the founder and co-instructor of Rising Scholar Learning Center.
After spending several years as lead teacher for fourth and fifth grades, Kimberley knows just what it takes to help our youth gain the confidence they need to master math and maybe even establish a love for the subject.
She has earned a diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education from Flint River Technical College (now known as Southern Crescent Technical College) in 1999, a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Mercer University in 2003, followed by a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Phoenix in 2009, and lastly, a Gifted Endorsement in 2015. She excels inside of the classroom with accolades such as Teacher of the Year, and grade level chairperson for multiple years. She currently teaches in the Thomaston-Upson County School system as a fourth grade math/science teacher.
Her belief is that if we can help students to understand math, they won’t feel defeated by it; it will all start to make sense, and they will make connections and see how each new concept builds upon the previous concept
